Will alcohol help me Burn Fat and increase muscle mass?
I've heard alcohol can burn calories, so is it healthy to drink maybe 7 or 8 pints before a workout to enhance metabolism / fat burning?
in case you didnt know, alcohol is very calorific. alcohol can be used as a form of fuel in some engines, and has a High Energy content.
a 30ml shot of vodka has 60 calories.
thats 30ml of liquid...60 calories...add in some sugary mixers and your looking at 250 calories per drink...and if you're talking about beer well beer is just as bad, add the carbohydrate.
so the answer is no. Your body will digest the alcohol first and foremost and anything you eat afterwards will get metabolised at a much slower rate.
